MUSIC. It is the great equalizer. It is a vehicle for escape, it can revive energy. For me, music is an everyday essential. Each of us has favorites that fall in several catagories. It would be impossible to name one favorite song, wouldn't it? Our interests change, evolve. Maybe choosing a top ten wouldn't be as hard. There are songs we love because they let us sing along loudly in the car. There are songs we love because they have a beautiful melody, or touching lyrics. We were watching VH-1 this weekend as they tracked the top 100 songs of the 80's. Great fun remembering all the tunes from then....songs we heard in clubs, or concerts we went to...or singles we bought. Made me think of being in England, in 1984 when I met my husband. Lots of records (yes, vinyl!) were brought home from that trip....amongst them "NOW That's What I Call Music, Volume 4". A time capsule of tunes from that year. For the past few years I have been making cds with all my favorite current hits. My own version of That's What I Call Music.
So about the CRUSADE. Think about your favorite music that you are listening to NOW. Journal about it....even if it's just writing down the singles and the names of the bands. You may have several lists. You may be inspired to just journal about one song, or one band. Make a time capsule of your music for 2006. A few years from now you'll be glad you did. You don't have to use any stamps....interpret the challenge your own way. Post a link to your art in the comments and I'll start compiling a list of team players as they come in. Enter as many times as you want. DUE DATE FOR TOP HAT DRAWING: 11/30.
EDIT: Participants have been moved here from sidebar list. Some links may no longer be active.

this is my first time playing and it took me a while but I managed to finish a spread in my journal about one of my current favorite songs. I might journal around some of the empty spaces. I haven't decided. Music is a gift.

OK--I'M IN! Trying to learn Photoshop and I've reached the limits of my patience (for today)! Here's a collage created in both traditional (paper/stamps) and digital format:

The verse is from the song, "In Loving Memory" by Alter Bridge...the song can be about loss to some, but it makes me think about the special people who enter our lives and change us forever. I love the vocals in this song!

I just posted another layout to my blog, this one is: "All about ME, it's Who I Am". I chose so many of my favorite things; an acrylic doll body, paperclip hand, my label tape, the die cut of the state I live in, all my loves (family), my ipod, playlists, etc. AND, inside the pocket is a card that tells everyone I am a "closet Eeyore lover! My Playlist: Who I am!

Interesting one for me because it involved two things that were completely new to me. One was my new plates from GPP and the other a new album - Stadium Arcadium - which was a gift from their greatest fan and my dear friend Flo. (the GPP stamps were an 'enable' from her too:-).
I really enjoyed having my horizons opened!

Here's my contribution :0)- well... had to use my new Juliet plate lol!
Have been listening to two tracks inparticularly over the last couple of weeks...Going Under and Bring Me To Life on the Fallen Album (Evanescence). I hope this piece of art work portrays the emotion that I feel belongs to both of those.
Thanks to Michelle for hosting and for all those fab pieces of artwork created by all those taking part.

I've been to their concert last week and picked out one one my favourite songs "Imaginary".
