Whoop! Eighty-nine links! You guys rocked the last crusade! I LOVED seeing how everyone interpreted the challenge. We saw so much great stuff and we met alot of new friends. I could feel your enthusiasm for how cool this simple experiment turned out, and how good it made you feel to accomplish making a fabulous page or two. Some of you made even more than that. Well done EVERYONE!! Hooray for creativity and hooray for making connections!
Material requirement for this month: found type, adhesive, scissors or utility knife, journal pages
Browse through magazines or newspapers and grab lines of text. The found typography can be used to create messages, or just placed onto the page as an abstract background. It's up to you whether you cut or rip, and whether you place onto your page in a linear format or attach randomly.
Easy! Don't feel like you have to *finish* a page. Sit on it a while. Maybe you will never finish it. You can leave as is and let it just be a lesson. Or you can lightly cover with gesso and paint, or spray paint over part of it, or apply images....but don't feel like you have to show us a completed page.
There are many lessons to be learned by taking on this assignment. You will discover more than just those mentioned here. Does there even HAVE to be a point? No. Duh. It's just a fun experiment, and it's quick, and cheap, and easy! Oh, and cool.
I will be away for a while in the middle of August. I'm not sure if I will have internet access so the link list may not be updated if links come in during that time. Please check the comments to visit participants while I am away. And behave yourselves (as in don't forget to leave encouraging comments!)
