Thank you to all the crusaders who joined in this month to show us the various ways to use your color copies of painted backgrounds. I know it was alot of work to do more than one page so appreciate that you took the time to share your work and your thoughts about the process. I was thinking it might be cool to offer one of your background copies to another crusader, and see how they might use it. Maybe we will try that sometime.
The participation always slims down at this time of year so I am making this an easy challenge. It's something I hope you have already done ~ but if not, now is the time! I want you to put your art under glass. See what it looks like framed. Hang it in your home or your workspace. It can be a journal page, or a painted piece, or a color copy (or printed scan) of your work. Or paint a canvas, just to hang somewhere in your home. If you already have your own art adorning your walls then show us! Let's motivate each other this month to express ourselves as the artists we are by hanging our cool stuff on our walls.
Above are evidence photos that show some of my own art hanging at home. The framed journal pages sit on a shelf in my studio (there is no wall space). I also have many pieces done by friends hanging throughout the home. Let's see what you've got :)
Next: a series based on journaling *evidence*

This is very timely. I do have several of my works, hanging, but more are not. A previous crusade piece is under glass, but is waiting for a frame. Thanks for the motivation to follow through. XO

Sigh..this is a great idea..I recently started a rotating frame in my dining room to house digital art.. I print and switch out art as needed..it's great- I think everyone should do it!

Michelle, I have something already framed that I love and thought I would share:

I hope to be back later in the month with something else!

What's my hang up? That I don't think my stuff is "good enough" to hang up!!!! ARGH. I know, I've got to work on that... I plan on joining in this crusade one way or the other.
See you back here soon
Love MB
PS - I am probably not the only one freaking out about this one - any advice?
Posted by: Marble Blue | November 03, 2010 at 05:12 AM
eeek - this is one thing I have never had the confidence to do....I have a box canvas I made on the wall (well, I used to, I took it down and replaced it by some “proper” art by a “real” artist :) )
But I have never dared put anything of mine behind glass (other than photographs), somehow that seems a privilege reserved for the real deal.
Will try to be brave! It’s too long since I last had the time to join in with the crusades….

Sweet! Motivation to get me off my butt and out looking for a frame for my last piece. And maybe some others. :)
And hey, I have that postcard in the first pic! Came in a GPP package I ordered way back. It's hanging on the cabinet door behind my desk at work!

I have two pieces of my art hanging in my studio that you can see in the last photo in this post: http://www.gaalcreative.com/2010/10/29/a-peek-inside-my-studio/
The top piece is a scanned and printed copy of an art journal page showing me in my Artist Armor. And the bottom piece is a watercolor that I did on Yupo watercolor paper at a class I took on my birthday.

Ohh so nice to hear you say that! My art is all over my house. Paintings, collages, photos, crochet, macrame, papier mache, jewelry .. it seemed a little egoistic at first :-)
Like your blog. BTW I found by going on a little diversion from Kelly' blog hop which I was inspired to visit all 400 blogs by Rita A. :-)

I have overcome my fear and made 5 little collages in frames:
http://aztecmichelle.wordpress.com/2010/11/06/gpp-no-46-whats-your-hang-up/
So it's not quite the big piece of work to hang, but I am working on it! (Well... working up the courage!)
Thanks,
Michelle

Framed art really looks better and also makes you feel better about your work.
Thanks,

An excellent idea.
And I gotta get out to the previous crusades and see what folks have done. It's great to visit the players and look at the variety of inspiration out there. Thanks Michelle!

Oh, Michelle, The rotating blocks in your dining room are absolutely *IT*. I die for them, so very very cool. Not that there's anything wrong with the rest of your art, you realize , but those blocks just "send me".

Michelle, thank you for another great challenge!
My 'evidence' is posted

p.s. I agree with Nancy, the blocks are beyond cool.

Hello Michelle,
I have a whole wall on my first floor for a lot of artwork my kids made when they were small and teenagers, but I don't really have much on my wall from myself except an extract of my MOO's with work of me...
I make a lot to give away and my little books I make are not on the walls but in two glasscabinets, but that's not the same as on the wall I guess.
Or does a glasscabinet counts as a frame too ?...
greetings from Belgium

Here is my art tour! Thanks for this idea, so fun... Can I ask how you made those lovely assemblages with wire, fabric leaves and branches? What did you use to attach them all together?

I framed a gift, it was a hit! Thank you Michelle. I'm sorry I'm always so last minute, but thanks for the challenge. Sometimes it's hardest to take ourselves seriously enough to do something like this...

Hi Michelle,
I finally got my piece framed and up on the wall. It never would have happened without you! Thanks so much for the crusades this year. I managed to take part in all of them.

Grateful for the posting extenstion. I actually made my goal of hanging art early on, but getting my post up has been a challenge.
Merry Christmas! xo

Here's my second go at this. My previous post showed pieces I already had up. (I felt like I was cheating!) To really take on the challenge I wanted to add something that I've been meaning to add that I "haven't gotten around to yet".

Pleased to take part in your challenge... I posted something from my wall but I am encouraged to do some new art for framing too. Thanks for the inspiration!
