Thank you to the Believers! I enjoyed your observations and remarks about being Creatives. I know there are more of you out there - if you want to make your claim and join in you can do so at any time. We love meeting new friends, especially ones that share our enthusiasm for living an artful life.
As we wind down the year of Evidence Journaling we have to talk about music. I always take an annual review of what I've been listening to and put those playlists in my journal. It's a terrific time capsule. It's been a long time since I've prompted you to consider music, yet it's something that is important to me on a daily basis. I encourage you to document your current favorite tunes like we did exactly FIVE years ago with Crusade No. 2. However, this month I want you to think about the songs that make you sing out loud. Like really loud. Like I-don't-care-who-sees-or-hears-me loud. Like you're driving in the car and a song comes on and you break out in full-blown voice. And the guy at the stop light sees you bopping along and wonders what you're listening to because he wishes he could find the same radio station. All the world's a stage when you are an impulsive and confident singer.
Doesn't it feel good so sing it loud? I start the mornings in my studio with many different kinds of music. Anything that will get me tapping along, getting my blood pumping and body moving. I made the page below with a handful of songs I know I belted out while driving around town today. Some were on cds, some were random selections from the radio. For a time I was stuck in a traffic jam so I pulled out the drumsticks. I'm sure I looked a right fool trying to keep up with the beat but it dispelled my frustration. I've carried drumsticks in my car since I was 16. They double as a microphone :)
Do you sing in the shower? Do you wear headphones while walking the neighborhood and find it hard to refrain from humming along? I'll never be a contestant on American Idol or The X Factor, and I've never done karaoke, but I do love to sing. I love when my kids sing in the car with me - fearless and unconcerned about ability, just feeling it and doing it. There are some songs that just make you want to step into the shoes of the lead singer. (My husband has the talent - used his pipes in several bands).
Click the arrow and play this one. I dare you not to sing along.
As I said, we made journal pages of our playlists for Crusade No. 2. here are mine:
And then we had a record number of participants (100+) for Crusade No. 11, where we embedded videos on our blogs. So I know you love music. And I know you sing along.
All the world's a stage for us wanna-be performers. Tell us what gets you to hold a fist in front of your face as an imaginary microphone. One song or many. You may find yourself adding to the list so start now....

OMG! I loved this challenge so much it inspired me to literally amke my one this afternoon! thanks so much for suggesting this wonderful topic!

ah, it's a while since I have squeezed a GPP challenge in, but you know I can't resist a music one :) Even if my "can't help but sing along" list might knock a few points off my street cred lol :)

I could fill my whole art journal on this prompt alone. My DNA requires me to sing along to any song I know the words to (and much to my family's chagrin, I know the words to everything). (and darn it, I really thought I'd have the last crusade done before this one was posted! It's coming!) -Karen

wow... Crusade 2 ?!? This is great.
I totally sing while I'm walking with the iPod going. Let's hope there are LOTS of crusaders this time.
Oh! including myself!

Doesn't *everyone* sing along to Queen? We had a fun night recently at work, and played Sing Star (like Karaoke) - the darn thing kept telling me I was "terrible". Charming! Anyway, my page is done and is going in the album I keep of pages that are only about me - a small and infrequent record of my life...

Hello Crusaders!
I'm a little behind (and trying not to freakout that it is only 5 weeks to Christmas!) so here is Crusade No 56:
