I loved seeing you make pages about music! Especially the tunes you sing out loud. I hope that months or year from now, as you look back on these pages, you will smile about the tunes that made your list, and that you might even start humming along.
This month I've got nothing to show you YET. No pages made ahead of time in preparation for this crusade. Why? Because I am guilty of not being on film, at least not very often. For one, I hate it. I am not photogenic. And secondly, I'm always the one taking the pictures. So I am hardly ever IN them. But regardless how we feel about having our picture taken, we need to do it. We need evidence, at least annually, that we were here. Right?
This holiday, take pictures, then hand the camera over to someone else and get in on a few. Don't leave them in the camera - get them printed! Pass them out....or at least get one or two put in your journal (or if you are too busy to make a page at least post some on your blog). Evidence.
Last year we did a family photo for our Christmas card after years of sending the "kids only". We got more compliments than ever. People like to see you. Get on film.
I'll be back later in the month with proof that I did it. Let's all do it.
EDIT: 12/30, I got it done. I scrolled through photo files from 2011 and found myself in some of them. Not as many as I should have. I think of some of things I did this year, and people I was with, and I have no record of it. Sure, we have memories, but nothing brings it back like a photo...even if it isn't the best shot. Now I need to print all of these out and put in my journal, along with the stories that go with them. I hope that even if you don't participate in this crusade that you still have an awareness of how important it is to get in FRONT of the camera. So here I am...

Oh god. Do I have to? ;-)
There are only a handful of photos of me from the last 20 years, but that's about all. For all the usual reasons; bad skin, too busy, too fat, too...
On the other hand, I don't want to be invisible when I'm gone one day. So, yep - I'll do it! And besides, everyone who loves me knows what I look like, it's not like it's some great secret LOL.

Just reading this post I've got a whole series of posts on photography in my head... :-)

Cath - good point....don't want to be invisible. It's not about the glamour, it's about the moment. Go for it!
Hanna - happy to hear it! Can't wait to see what you cook up.

Michelle - will the level of torture you put us through ever end? We have done all sorts of crazy and wonderful Crusades this year but now you want us to take photos of OURSELVES?!? And let others see them?
But then, like Cath says when we are behind the camera we don't get seen.... so I'll do it too!

Michelle: You're right - we do hate photos of ourselves. But this gives me a good excuse to take them and remember to "record" the moment with my family and friends. Thanks! I'm sure my pages will be ready after Christmas -- so have a merry one!!

Michelle-
Still trying to finish up on the last 2 crusades, had a couple of projects that took up my art time. I already have a jump start on the photo thing, last weekend my sisters and I had our annual Christmas Tea and had our annual Christmas photo taken...now to get it printed! I may just evidence the many past Christmas Teas we have had as well as the story behind them.....
I always look horrible in photos so I think when I give the camera over I will have lots (well, several) taken so I have a chance of getting one or two I can use.
I love that we did evidence crusades all year, it has been great fun!
Christmas wishes!
Until later,
Judy

Now to get onto those photos... ;)

I don't usually have too much trouble getting in front of the camera, especially if I control the circumstances. So, I just wait til I'm alone, get out my trusty remote shutter and click away. There's bound to be a decent one in there somewhere.....! Here's my batch so far:

Jumped right in a took some photos of myself at the local reserve while the kids had a blast going down the rock slide (which is amazing that the water was still running in late December). At first I was a bit hesitant but got into the groove towards the end of the 'take it yourself' photoshoot. Some shots aren't too bad. Didn't include the one with the fly perched on my nose! Thanks for doing the crusades, Michelle and for taking out of our comfort zone.
Cheers

OK, since I never take photos, I embraced the opportunity to have my photo taken during a recent business trip! You'll see the fun results!! As always, Thanks, Michelle for your inspiration!

Here is my contribution to this month's Crusade:

As the end of the year approached, thanks must go to Michelle for challenging us each month, even when her life is busy. Many of my great learnings this year can be traced back to a Crusade. I think the Disappearing Act has been my favourite! It certainly made Christmas card making so much easier with all of those painted backgrounds already finished!
Hope everyone has a happy and creative New Year!
