angels gather here

When our brother-in-law arrived for Thanksgiving he had gifts for the kids.  Fallon received these two angels and Andy shared that Shannon requested her collection be given to her four nieces.  It was very special to get Angel of Prayer, and Angel of the Heart.

MWnativity2

Sunday seemed the perfect time to bring out the Nativity set which matches the angels.  A special friend started me on the collection, adding to it every year.  I found the stable in an unfinished furniture shop - need to add some straw and pine boughs this week.  I painted the stable and added the star, then I found the ceiling tile tree.  I wish I could find more like this one!

MWnativity1

The Shannon Angels are surrounded by a host of gifted angels, from Mom and Judi:  Hope, Wonder, Warmth, and Remembrance.  They are Willow Tree by Sue Lordi for Demdaco.

Oh, and a score from a McDonald's Happy Meal.  *wink*

How fitting, because of course Shannon is surrounded by angels too.
And a Finnish Hippo in the creche? Umm, well no actually, not last time I checked ;-)

The sheep in the back left seems to be looking quizzically at the hippo - lol!
What a beautiful gift for Fallon from Shannon and Andy. I'm sure the angels will be treasured.

your HIM hippo is sooooooo cool!!! my daughter is multi times jealous!!!!!

How beautiful! I love those Willow Tree figures, they're always so graceful and simple.

Clearly there must have been a Finnish hippo at the birth of Jesus. After all, there was more than one lobster, if you believe Love Actually!

I think a lot of people under-estimate the value of the Happy Meal these days.. ;)

This is a really beautiful collection!

Angels for an Angel from an Angel.

As for the hippo with the HIM "tattoo" ?.......what can I say?.....so creative, so fun, so YOU.
I LOVED Madagascar 2......LOVED it. With music by Will I. Am, how could it miss.....:

"I like to move-it, move-it....."

OOOOOOOOOOOOh, you crack me up....here I am reading this lovely story about your manger...and wallah...there is MOTO "Ville" MOTO! I have to admit, I had to run right out to McDonalds when they came out. HEE!

HAHAHAH!! I wish I had a hippo in mine!!!

Those windows are heartstoppers, big city girl. Thanks for sharing!

I love it, and love that with time the collections is growing so beautifully and remembering Shannon each time a piece is added.

.....I love those angels. I have two special ones that my students gave me but I didn't know they had ones for a creche. - just beautiful and your celing tile tree is to die for !

Your daughter has received a very special gift that I'm sure she will cherish. We received a gift like that recently and I couldn't even throw the wrapping paper away.

Cheers,
Bre

Hi Michelle

This is really lovely. I super-love the wings.

Nativity scenes have a charm, don't they? This one is very heart warming. A priest in our diocese has over 300 sets and last year I photographed many of them. He collected them from his travels and would light up like a child when he would share his stories about them.

ok michelle,

you know i can't pass commenting on this...

i scrolled thru and am like ahhhh lovely nativity...just beautiful...and then...

LOL...there's 'moto moto' and with a heartagram...how absolutely funny and adorable...LOL

What a wonderful gift for Fallon.... I too have a small collection of these angels... and as for the hippo with the heartagram... lol

I have a few of the Willow Tree angels as well as part of the nativity (the main pieces, plus the wisemen). I love that stable. I've been thinking about having dh build me one, but for this year, the nativity sits in a cubbie of our new bookshelf, lit by a small bookshelf spotlight.
