I made these pages quickly this morning from the scraps of stuff sitting on my studio table. I was playing with the positive/negative of the punches when I journaled some thoughts from an exhibit where the artist described having the ruthlessness to leave things out. I often find that what is missing is more powerful than what is there.
Confessions of a pack-rat: I still have dusty artwork from submissions to Somerset Studio TEN years ago. I remember being psyched to be invited to participate in With One Stamp. I think that was one of the last times I ever used purple....but for Mardi Gras you have to, right?
I can hardly wait for the opening ceremonies starting in a few minutes. Spectacle at its very best, don't you think? Go Team USA! I prefer the winter over the summer. Love the skiing, the skating, the snowboarding. Growing up in Minnesota, and skiing at Buck Hill in my home town of Burnsville, I wanted to be a jumper. I also wanted to be a ballet skier. Thinking back - I was just lucky to have spent so much time on the slopes. It's a pretty expensive sport now.
I think Vancouver could have used our snow. It was beautiful - the recent storm. Loved having two *free days* from the usual routine.
Heartagram Day tomorrow. How will you be celebrating?
Yay New Orlean Saints! My victory spread in the ruby tuesday journal. *cheers*
New music Tuesday means HIM! Got my digital download at midnight (came with concert ticket purchase) and my special edition cd and numbered screen print arrived today. I have my teeshirt and my promo posters and I am ready to canvas New Jersey for the HIM Street Team. *screams*
Set your tivo, or tune in beginning Saturday to HBO for a two hour special on Temple Grandin. I had the pleasure of hearing her speak more than ten years ago at the release of her book Thinking In Pictures. She's a genius. This is going to be good!
And have I mentioned....I'm a Saints fan? Go Saints!
