Well yes, in D.C. this morning. But one might think it rippled up to New Jersey. You should see this place. I have taken on the gigantic task of rearranging my studio. Like moving entire sections of stuff across the room. Like moving shelves and tables. I hope to make the space more efficient and declutter by at least 50%. Ugh. I am determined to be ruthless and just get rid of stuff that gets in my way. I am so lucky to have this wonderful space attached to our home but I can hardly find a clear space to work and shamefully end up on the dining table to work. It's pitiful. NO MORE.
I promised to show you my roses....here are two of the four gardens:
I've been meaning to show you this lovely scarf I gifted myself with last month. It is simply smashing. You can see more of Maria's work on etsy: SingingScarves. (She is from Estonia, where HIM played last night. I wonder if she went?!)
My email hasn't been working....can't even log into the site to retrieve it. No matter....it can wait. But if you are expecting to hear back from me you can assume I haven't read anything in two days. I am not going to get distracted from this project. It is at least a 5-day affair.....I'm just into day two and you should see the bags of trash and compacted cardboard. Feels good.
Have a good weekend. And Happy Birthday Graham!!

I could not believe my ears. I was awake and wondered why the whole house shuddered. Who ever, ever heard of an earthquake in Maryland for Gawds sake????

I think Lynne's been influencing all us to get in the studio and clean and purge!
I was thrilled with my results - fun to see the top of the art table for once!

Yep, 5 am this morning! Actually, I don't think it's a first for Maryland and there was a small earthquake in Virginia a few years ago when Carrie was at William and Mary. But, I'll tell you Michelle, it didn't do anything to my creative space. It's still a mess! Send some motivation my way once you're finished your space!
Your roses are gorgeous!

5:04 to be exact. i have lived in Maryland my whole life (48 yrs.) and this is the first earthquake i have ever felt. I had no idea what had happened.
Michelle your roses are lovely.

Hello Michelle,
if the rearrangement has the force of an earthquake, you should show us before and after photos !
If you have been working on the dining table, it definitely was time to shake your little world ! LOL
In the veranda where I create now, my children played for years with lego and dolls. I knew when they came with their toys in the rest of the house, that is was really a mess there and time to clean up the playroom !
Now it's my place to computer and create with stamps and paint and I can still work on my table ( sometimes...). I do admit I have a room upstairs where I can keep all my clutter and close the door so no one see the amount of stuff...
Your roses bloom enormously ! My pink roses had their time and no flowers for the moment...
I missed the exact day of Shannon, but you are often in my mind when the pink flowers bloom.
greetings from belgium

Michelle,
Sure, blame your disaster on the quake...ha!
Hey, thank you for the stamps, I'm loving them. I'm using them in some work right now and they are fabulous! I need to figure out how to connect to your blog from my blog, so anyone who reads me can go directly to you! I'm such a dork when it comes to the computer stuff.
Check me out if you get the chance

Michelle,
Thank you so much for the input on the crows. Great advice, I'm going to go with the adding of more crosses (in that "yummy yellow" ha!) and see how that works out.
If you scroll down to July 8th posting, "New Stamps" you will see your stamps just after I received them!
Thank you again!
xoxo

I am so excited that I have ordered some of your new stamps. I am really looking forward to using them.
I wanted to get all of them but I will work on that.
Keep creating

Sometimes it takes nature to wake us up and let us do things we should have been doing long before ;-)
I would love to see before/after pictures! Have fun decluttering!

There's nothing like the feeling of a reorganized, purged studio. It feels like there is more room in your head too - for more creative ideas :) Enjoy the process and the glorious outcome!

Happy reorganization! It'sso hard, but it's worth it!!
