Just about a year ago my friend Lisa and I started exchanging mail that came in spray painted packages. The sending and receiving of them was such a gas, it revived my interest and love of Mail Art. Over the past year I have been a lucky girl to get many fab envelopes and mailed art from many artists. If you came to this arena of paper arts from the stamping field you probably remember how fun it was to send out stamped envelopes.....maybe you still practice this almost lost art.
Your assignment, should you choose to join in Crusade No. 10, is to make and send some Mail Art. Stamp, paint, spray, or collage some groovy postcards or envelopes, then send them off to lucky individuals and blog about it. Enter the link to your blog post in the comments below so we can come over and see the cool stuff you are sharing. It might be wise to blur out the addresses, and even better: keep the mail-to name a secret so it will be a surprise for the recipient. If you've already been engaging in Mail Art exchanges then you know what fun it is and all you have to do is blog about and link here.
You can't really tell from the envelopes above, but they are clear....and guess what? You can spray paint on clear envelopes!!! GAH! TRY IT! The black diamonds are sprayed - the colored stuff is on the inside.
Oh - and don't deny yourself a little fun.....take your mail art TO the post office to send. Nothing is better than seeing the reactions. Not only are you going to be spreading some love to the person you are sending to, but you'll be delivering smiles all along the route. (Don't stop at just one piece of mail....send out a batch!)
So let's Spread the Love.....send Mail Art! Make cool stuff, document it with photos or scans on your blog, then mail it out. Link here, below, and I'll enter your link in the sidebar. Be sure your blog is set to receive comments because everyone loves to give AND get encouragement. As you may know, you can choose to enter this Crusade by following prompt No. 10, or any of the previous prompts (just be sure label appropriately)
