You're not surprised are you? Time to make some noise and play some music on your site! You can be all fancy and embed an auto play video, or a click-and-play video, or just offer links to videos/music you like. It's a great way to express yourself and for us to get to know you better.
I love coming here and hearing tunes play, and I know I'll get a kick out of coming to all of your sites and have something to listen to. It's easy to embed a video in a post on typepad. I'm not sure how other blogs work but even if you can't figure it out you can at least talk about a tune and provide a link to it's video. Yep, not making art this month for the crusade. It's about expression of another kind....and it's easy. Just takes a little investigative work and an entry on your blog.
Try going to Youtube to find a video, then copy the embed html code to your post. In Typepad you'll have to click on the "Edit HTML" tab, and paste the code in and ta-da, it's done! This is what I call click-and-play since it has to be manually turned on by the reader. Another option is go to a music video code site like VideoCure. At this place you can look up your band, then see if they offer the video, then select the player option and get the code. These are automatic players that can be turned off by the reader IF they can find the post with the video. I recently heard from a reader who sent an irritated email about having to listen to my noise and where was the OFF button. Well, because the embedded video was so far down on the list of posts he couldn't find it. My response: Turn Down Your Speakers. It's my house, I'll play what I want. And if you're annoyed, it's your fault. I told him not to come back this month because I had planned a LOUD crusade.
Remember, your site is your domain, your front door. You can do whatever you want and if you get complaints, invite them to turn down their speakers.
As most of you know, this Street Team was a late night epiphany directly inpsired by my own involvement with the HIM Street Team. As members, we help promote the band in any way we can (I'm in the top 25!). There is a building of excitement as we anticipate a new album, VENUS DOOM, out September 18. So here I am, Making Some Noise, and plugging the new single and video, Kiss Of Dawn, hot off the press. Scoring points for two teams! If you're not interested, turn down your speakers. If you like what you hear, why not pre-order the album HERE, and download the video at itunes for $1.99, so you can view it FULLSCREEN! Before this Crusade is over I will have seen HIM twice on the Project Revoltion tour. Can you stand it?!!!!!!
If you want a button for your post on the Crusade, capture this. Let's hear it! Need to know more? Click on the What's a Street Team link. Add your comment below, with a link to your noise and I'll post it to the list as they come in, newest at top. (Archived Crusades get changed to alphabetical by first name).
Make Some Noise DUE DATE: September 1st.
