I had this Crusade planned long before that cool thing happened with You-Know-Who last week, so it isn't about THAT. I've been thinking about Crushes ever since my daughter has admitted a twelve-year-old infatuation with a certain neighborhood boy who is about to move out of town, and she has yet to say "hello" to him. I remember those heart-felt flames well. But I think of a CRUSH as anything that makes your heart flutter. Anything.
This Crusade is similar in a way to No. 6: Pick Your Poison, in that you have to confess what does you in, what you are infatuated with, what causes crazy-but-good obsession. Tell us what you have a CRUSH on....it can be anything. Do you have a favorite writer, or restaurant, or flavor (pesto!), or movie, or actor (Johnny Depp), or paper (Basic Grey), or scent, or tv show, or destination, or......
For instance, I have a Crush on a COLOR: RED. I used to adore SAGE....then I had a little affair with MUSTARD, followed by a trist with TURQUOISE. I've always been faithful to BLACK.....but for several years it's been all about RED for me.
Open my closet and you'll find no less than 6 pairs of red shoes, no less than 5 red jackets, no less than 3 red purses.....
Evidence above of my Crush on RED. It's nearly always present in my artwork. When I shop for paper or clothing or home decor items....if it doesn't come in black, I get red. Our bedroom is red - walls and ceiling. I'm currently obsessed with anything covered in RED ROSES. Can't stop LOVING RED. Don't want to. (Love red too? Here's a book for you.) So what are you crushing on? What are you infatuated with? What obsesses you? It can be a Person, Place or Thing. You already knew about my Valo crush, and my spray paint crush.....I also have a crush on Venice. Will get there someday. (Hey, I met my rock star twice....I'll get to Venice!)
Make a journal page and/or blog entry about at least one CRUSH you have. Show us some cool pictures of what you are infatuated with and tell us why. Mention Crusade No. 12, and come back here and leave a comment with a link to your blog entry. I'll post the links as they come in, newest at top so you can visit the sites of other teamers who are crushing. (Archived crusades get changed to alphabetical). Be sure to leave your comments when you visit - everyone loves feedback and the whole point of this team is to widen our circle of kindred spirits. If you are new here, WELCOME, and come play! The crusades are open to everyone.
CRUSH ON YOU DUE DATE: OCTOBER 1st.
Feel free to take this button for your post.
Next month will be our one year anniversary of the Street Team Crusades. Look how much we've grown!
