I wanted to make this an easy Crusade since it's a busy time of year, no matter what holiday you celebrate in December. I hope you'll join in on this one because it will give a chance to learn something more about you. I was writing with a new friend and we were saying how cool it has been to meet one another because of blogs. We may have never met in a cafe, or on the sidewalk, but we met online. So it is with YOU. We might pass one another on the street, but we know each other because of the Street Team.
This month make an entry on your blog about where you live. Better yet, make a journal page and share a photo of it. You could tell us about your home, your town, or your country. If you are a transplant like me, you could tell us where you came from, and maybe all the places you've lived. I know this is a global community so it will be fun to see where we are all located. Periodically I will revise this map graphic with dots showing where you all are. I tested out one of those map widgets for the blog and it refreshes daily so I bagged it. I did find out that slide.com has a guestbook we could use. See the link on the left? Click on there to visit the guestbook page.
These pages were done for a collaborative project and then I re-purposed them for an article. I noticed there has been a secret significance to each house number I've had. For instance, our current home is #113. It was mentioned that it might be an unlucky number, particularly since it was our first home purchase and we had never seen the house (daring, yes?). I saw the number as a SIGN that it was THE place for us. One husband, one wife, three kids equals 113, SOLD!
ON MY SOAPBOX: While I'm encouraging you to enter the Crusade, I will aslo take this moment to encourage your comments. Here's what I've noticed: We have many many participants in these Crusades (and many visitors who observe but don't play.) Yet, as I revisit the links on the lists here I only see a handful of comments for each player. WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE YOU? In a perfect world, every Crusader (and every lurker) should be commenting on every other Crusader's site. Ok, I get it that it's time consuming and maybe you think what you were going to say has already been said but isn't this whole community about networking and making connections with one another? Don't we all want to make new friends? Don't we all appreciate the validation that comes with receiving a comment? Yes, I know it's not always about the comments but we want to keep the momentum going. We want both our new friends and old friends to know their participation is valued. I do get it that some of you like to join in each month because it gets you to DO something. That is great,....like really really great. Love that. And I think you ALL rock for making an appointment with creativity every month, and for making your blogs cool places to visit. Just don't forget to leave a comment when you are out and about on the net, ok?
So this month, tell us Where in the World you are. Make a journal page and post on your blog or simply tell your story then comment here and I'll post your link to the list. Be sure to list your location with your comment (makes it easier for me to make the map). Links are posted in order as they come in, newest at top so you can navigate easily and visit each new entry. (Past crusades are archived alphabetically by first name). You are welcome to join in any previous Crusade, just label accordingly.
Visit the blog page with the guestbook and enter yourself HERE.
